Hoka è stato il brand che ha inaugurato, ormai quindi anni fa, l’era della maxi shoes. All’epoca scarpe massimaliste caratterizzate da una “zeppa” in stile anni ’70 che con il tempo hanno preso una nuova forma, una nuova conformazione, utilizzando tecnologie sempre più specializzate e performanti. Un trend diventato moda e via da inseguire per moltissimi altri brand.
In questi giorni Hoka è ritornata sul mercato con un nuovo modello che ricorda in molti aspetti quei primi prototipi, ma che racchiude in sé un’anima di innovazione. Stiamo parlando della nuova Skyward X, super-maxi-scarpa da allenamento, caratterizzata da un’altissima intersuola in un mix di Peba e una piastra convessa in fibra di carbonio, che garantiscono massima ammortizzazione e promuovo una corsa più dinamica.
Questa non vuole essere una recensione della nuova Hoka Skyward X, ma solo un’anteprima che riassume le nuove caratteristiche della scarpa annunciata dalla casa madre in attesa di poterla testare secondo i protocolli di The Running Club.
Skyward X si caratterizzata per un’estrema morbidezza e fluidità ed è stata progettata per macinare chilometri e chilometri in allenamento senza fare (troppa) fatica. Un modello che unisce i principi del design massimalista di Hoka, insieme a un nuovo e innovativo sistema nato dalla combinazione di materiali innovativi, nuove tecnologie e geometrie estreme.
Partiamo, come sempre, dal cuore di questa calzatura, l’intersuola. Alta ben 48 millimetri sotto al tallone (46 millimetri nel modello da donna) e 43 millimetri all’avampiede, per un drop di 5mm, utilizza un mix di schiume in Peba per garantire massima ammortizzazione e ritorno di energia.
La parte superiore dell’intersuola, quella a diretto contatto con il piede, è formata da Active Foot Frame, schiuma a base Peba, che permette un movimento fluido e garantisce la giusta ammortizzazione. Lo strato inferiore, invece, strutturato con mescola in EVA, più denso e solido, è utilizzato per fornire maggiore stabilità, insieme alla piastra convessa (a forma di H) in fibra di carbonio. Quest’ultima, sviluppata tridimensionalmente sul tallone, in modo che possa comprimersi e tornare a espandersi ad ogni passo, è inserita tra i due strati in modo da aumentare la sensazione di stabilità. A completare questo complicato sistema di ammortizzazione e propulsione il MetaRocker di Hoka, sistema progettato per garantire un movimento sempre più naturale del piede e un’andatura più fluida.
La tomaia è in tessuto piatto, strutturato a zone, per garantire maggiore resistenza nei punti più esposti e sottoposti ad usura e fornire una calzata ancora più confortevole e sicura, grazie anche al rinforzo esterno in TPU attorno al tallone. Completa il tutto il sistema di allacciatura Ghillie per un bloccaggio più sicuro e confortevole del mesopiede.
Il peso è importante, ma non potrebbe essere altrimenti vista la sua conformazione: 320 grammi nella taglia US10 da uomo e 261 grammi nella US8 da donna.
Hoka Skyward X è un modello di scarpa da corsa che rientra pienamente nella categoria delle super trainer “illegali” (ne abbiamo accennato qui), scarpe che sfruttano composizioni e geometrie non regolamentari per essere utilizzate anche in gara, ma che servono per migliorare l’esperienza e la performance durante gli allenamenti quotidiani e più lunghi.
